In 2018/19, successive marina and yacht club buildings with restaurant and supermarket will be opened.
The small dreamy village of Olpenitz nearby (3 km away) with its beautiful (thatched) houses offers restaurants and shops as well as the well-known fishing village Kappeln with a small port operation.
The public “Weidefelder beach” is immediately followed by the south to the Port Olpenitz-Areal, is kurtaxfrei, 3 km long and of good quality sand. Also there is a small beach restaurant. Cyclists come to the beach for free, motorists pay a comparatively low parking fee.
