The small sleepy village Olpenitz very close (3 km) with its beautiful (thatched) houses offers dining and shopping as well as the well-known fishing town Kappeln and small port operation.
The public “Weidefelder beach” is immediately followed by the south to the Port Olpenitz-Areal, is kurtaxfrei, 3 km long and of good quality sand. Also there is a small beach restaurant. Cyclists come to the beach for free, motorists pay a comparatively low parking fee,
