Original loft for up to 6 people in the middle of the cultural center E-Werk

6 People|2 Bedrooms|

Property Description

My loft is spacious (80sqm) and bright with its 5 large windows. It is located on the grounds of the E-Werk, which is now used for art and culture. It has a comfortable bathroom, a large kitchen, a smaller, middle room with sofa bed for 2 persons and a large, rear room with bunk beds for 2 persons, double and single bed. Both rooms offer additional space for a baby (travel) bed (available). The loft is ideal for larger groups or families. Because of the dividing walls made of wood and glass from GDR times and the high, rounded windows, the loft is flooded with light and has a very special, charming atmosphere. It is across from the shopping center “Atrium” where you will find everything you need. A health food store is just around the corner. The city center (with Goethe and Schillerhaus) is within easy walking distance. The new Bauhaus Museum is less than a 5-minute walk away. If you go a few meters on the road “Am Kirschberg” and then turn right, you are in the park and on the Ilm (biking) trail. One direction leads to Tiefurt with its castle (and park), in the other you get directly into the Goethepark with the famous garden house. In the loft there are TV, kitchen utensils, bed linen, towels, several cuddly corners, jobs and children’s toys. The large parking lot on the premises is free.

The E-Werk is one of the active Modern Art presentation venues in Weimar and a loft is right in the middle of it all. There are festivals here (e-werk festival in April, backup film festival in May, art festival in summer …). The E-Werk also houses the experimental stage of the Deutsches Nationaltheater and the Lichthaus cinema with an outstanding Art House program. Furthermore, there is music at the venue. Literature and open air events (Rebecca Horn: Concert for Buchenwald) as well as permanent and time limited exhibitions and once a month a flea market. In addition, events and parties of the Bauhaus students take place.

Weimar is the heart of German culture. The city is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In 1999 it was the smallest cultural city in Europe. There is plenty of classical heritage such as the library of Anna Amalia, the former duchess whose son Karl August Johann Wolfgang von Goethe invited to Weimar. Because of Goethe Friedrich Schiller came to Weimar, but also Bach, Liszt, Herder, Wieland … lived and worked here. From the recent past, the “Bauhaus” is a household name, the famous school of architecture and design, which was founded in 1919 in Weimar. Weimar’s Bauhaus University follows her ideas and is very active in the contemporary scene.
