The village Toad is located in the west of the district Lüchow-Dannenberg, a few kilometers south of the federal road B 493 (Lüchow-Uelzen). Here are the first slopes of the so-called High Drawehn. The landscape is slightly curved and wooded. Around the village are meadows, fields and forest areas, this idyllic environment invites you to relaxing bike rides and long walks.
The village itself consists of about 10 houses and was formerly a so-called small Rundlingsdorf. From toot you can reach the district towns Lüchow or Uelzen with all shops, doctors, offices and schools and a wide range of leisure activities in about 20 minutes. A forest bath is located in the nearby town Wittfeitzen.
Every year a couple of cranes nests nearby, which can be seen again and again in the fields and can feel the uniqueness of nature through its impressive courtship calls.
The secluded location in the quiet, rural surroundings with a wonderful panoramic view and a comfortably furnished apartment offers the opportunity to unwind, to relax and to tackle the everyday life.
A trip to the Elbe and the half-timbered towns of Hitzacker, Lüchow, Dannenberg or Salzwedel is worthwhile in any weather. In Uelzen there is the Hundertwasser station and on Wednesdays and Saturdays a large farmer’s market. Further tips for excursions, hikes, bike rides or cultural events, the landlord will gladly on site.
By car: From the south, west and north via Uelzen in the direction of Lüchow on the B 493 after about 20 km to Toad right.
From the east over Lüchow in the direction of Uelzen after about 20 km turn left.
After the village sign do not turn left into the village, continue straight ahead on the paved dirt road. On the left side after approx. 100 m “Am Soederbring” turn left onto Wiesenweg
turn and drive to the end. The destination is now left.
By train to the station Uelzen. (20 Km) or Schnega train station (12 Km)
