The estate also includes a children’s playground and barbecue area which may also be used. Forest, meadows and fields invite to walks or bike rides. The cycling and hiking trail to the Kiel Canal provides direct access to the world’s busiest artificial waterway. Here you can watch the hustle and bustle of the anglers and big freighters or visit one of the best snacks in Schleswig-Holstein (Sehestedt).
If you appreciate peace and nature – away from highways and the big city bustle – and who likes to say hare and hedgehog “good night” outside the gates of Eckernfördes, this is the place for you.

Gut Grünhorst is located on the edge of the Hüttener Berge Nature Park. Grünhorst is a district of the municipality Holtsee and is located about 2 km from the village center (incl. Cheese factory and village shop) away at the end of a little-traveled dead end.
The Eckernförde Bay – and thus the Baltic Sea – is not far away (about 11 km) and easy to reach by car or bicycle. Even larger cities such as Kiel (20 km) or Rendsburg (20 km) are not too far away and can be accessed quickly via rural and national roads.
