The village is ideal for a relaxing holiday in the foothills of the Alps, where Upper Bavaria and the Allgau region meet. Spend your holiday in a stunning part of town called Hiebler. This place is located in a quiet area right at the heart of the countryside. As an added bonus, visitors can enjoy a wonderful view of the surrounding meadows, forests and mountains. You can expect to be the only occupant of this detached holiday home. The building belongs to the farm right opposite. The garden with garden furniture and barbecue facilities will also be at your disposal. There are numerous monuments in the village reflecting its history. You can learn about Bavarian traditions at any of the beer gardens this region is so famous for. Alternatively, there are also village festivals. Discover the beautiful landscape of the foothills of the Alps on hiking or cycling tours while exploring the circular hiking trails and cycling trails around Steingaden, or indeed on any of the long distance trails. The restaurants and inns offer a wide range of varied and excellent cuisine. Options for day trips include (with distances in brackets): Fussen (18 km), the castle of Neuschwanstein (25 km), Oberammergau (25 km), Munich (80 km) and Wieskirche (2.5 km). The latter has been declared a world cultural heritage site. This location is easily accessible on foot via the Brettelweg foot path. The walk itself is likely to take around 20 minutes.
