Numerous biking and hiking trails start directly from the house. The Harzer-Hexen-Stieg in particular is very popular. You can have fun swimming in the mountain lakes or at the region’s several water parks. In winter as well, the Harz ski areas right nearby are a major attraction, offering downhill and cross-country skiing, toboggan runs and ice skating rinks. Popular daytrips: The Iberg stalactite caverns, the mountain spa town of Bad Grund, the historic cities of Osterode, Einbeck und Goslar, mining museums, the Söse reservoir lake.
