The holiday home Luis nestles on a slope, behind which begins the Arnsberg forest. It is therefore necessary to take a few steps up to the front door. The house was completely redeveloped and redecorated until the beginning of 2018. The stylish furniture combines functional elements with design elements and unique pieces in traditional craftsmanship. The result is a modern, yet homely style accentuated by landscape and themed photos of the owner.
The large window in the living room and the terrace in front of it offer a wonderful view of the Möhnetal. Here you can enjoy a bottle of wine in a special evening atmosphere. The focal point of the living space is a sofa set, two comfortable armchairs and a coffee table that transforms into a gaming table with two movements. From the large picture window you can look across the terrace into the landscape. There is also a modern sideboard for storing useful things. A modern, light-open (but sound-proof) glass door leads into the dining room. At the large dining table all vacationers will find plenty of space. A handmade, traditional wooden cabinet includes a small holiday library and a high-quality DENON music system. Nothing stands in the way of a perfect listening pleasure. In keeping with the function of the room, artistic photos of the owner, whose photographs illustrate numerous award-winning cookbooks, are displayed on the walls.
Due to its generous format, the dining area can also be used as a seminar room for up to eight people.
Also from the living room leads to the kitchen. It is thoughtfully designed and fully equipped for a quick holiday kitchen or a sophisticated three-course meal. Sink, stove, refrigerator and coffee maker as well as a complete equipment of crockery and cooking utensils are at guests’ disposal. A large pantry and an additional breakfast area for a morning espresso complete the kitchen space perfectly.
The upper floor can be reached via a stylish classic wooden staircase. There are three bedrooms, two with double beds and one with a single bed from Interlübke. From all rooms you either have a view of the Möhnetal or in the forest. Nothing is heard here except the rustling of the trees and the chirping of the birds. Space for clothing and accessories can be found in built-in or individual cabinets. A bedroom also has its own sink with mirror. The hallway from the staircase leads except in the bedrooms and a small separate balcony.
Through the front door you reach the historic staircase, and from there directly into the practical bathroom. With shower, sink, toilet and many storage facilities, it is well-equipped for personal care and easy to reach from both floors.
The terrace framed the house on two sides and thus offers separate sunsets. Before there, the residents can either look down into the valley or into the forest and end a perfect holiday.
Of course, there is also a barbecue available.
Behind the house in an outbuilding for both houses Luis and Reinecke is a laundry room with washer and dryer.
