Welcome in the officially recognized resort of Steingaden with its many districts. The village is ideal for a relaxing holiday in the foothills of the Alps, where Upper Bavaria and the Allgau region meet. The small district Urspring is situated in the heart of the Pfaffenwinkel, at the lake between Steingaden and Lechbruck. You’ll stay in a detached log cabin with covered terrace, garden furniture, a pond and barbecue area. The house has comfortable furnishings and is situated on the owner’s property in a very quiet and sunny location. There are numerous monuments in the village reflecting its history. You can learn about Bavarian traditions at any of the beer gardens this region is so famous for. Alternatively, there are also village festivals. Discover the beautiful landscape of the foothills of the Alps on hiking or cycling tours while exploring the circular hiking trails and cycling trails around Steingaden, or indeed on any of the long distance trails. The restaurants and inns offer a wide range of varied and excellent cuisine. Options for day trips include (with distances in brackets): Fussen (18 km), the castle of Neuschwanstein (25 km), Oberammergau (25 km), Munich (80 km) and Wieskirche (2.5 km). The latter has been declared a world cultural heritage site. This location is easily accessible on foot via the Brettelweg foot path. The walk itself is likely to take around 20 minutes. Carriage rides may be offered upon request. Get away from the daily grind, enjoy nature and let the fresh mountain air help you unwind.
