Hochkar is due to its climatic conditions of the snowiest and most snow ski areas of Austria. The Hochkar has about 1 500 to a vegetation as elsewhere in the Alps on 2nd 000m.

slope preparation
On Hochkar we place special emphasis on daily top groomed slopes for our guests. To enable such slopes offer, many factors have to play together. At the beginning you need a sufficient snow cover – if should come to little of Mother Holle, our snowmaking ensure that sufficient snow is present at the critical points.
Our snow operations must always have the weather situation in view and respond to appropriate temperatures or wind conditions immediately.
Once there is enough snow, our pistes professionals are at work! Even the preparation of the slopes requires knowledge and skill with handling the 400 hp engine. With currently 6 machines the slopes are brought immediately to lift the end of operation day back on its feet.
Since the preparation must be carried out on steep slopes sections with a winch, we have the slopes for safety reasons from 17 o’clock to lock (except the floodlit piste for night skiing). Here really prevails Danger!
Goestling-Hochkar with its mountains and valleys is an ideal place to make the Austrian Nature acquaintance. Numerous hiking trails have been created by nature and are maintained by human hands waiting in Goestling on you. Breathe in the fresh nature and drink the pure natural water on the mountains of Goessling every season. The hospitality of this place you feel at any moment as well as in the many mountain huts where you can stop and relax. Trail no. 3
Mendlingtal – iron meadows – Hammer – Brunneck
Starting point: The parking for the ‘Mendlingtal’ in Lassing (690 m) near the village pond.
Walking time: about 5 1/2 hours
Track length: approximately 20 km
Directions: The trail leads next to the village pond on the main road down into the “Mendlingtal”. By Adventure World you go in about 1 hour to the Jausenstation “Hammer mansion”. A hammer mansion in the courtyard of the way on the asphalt road right towards Lassing returns. After about 800 meters turns left a meadow uphill into the forest until the wood is used to exit the farmhouse Schwölleckau. A meadow connects in a direct way the Schwölleckau the homestead iron meadows (834 m above sea level). From now leads along the asphalt road down to the farmhouse paints. Right between the house and garage for 100 meters and then right to the edge of the forest. The way and mark down the following, you reach the Ferienstadl Hammerau. The last few meters of the walk leading to the Alps Ensmann where you turn left. On the Lassing local road, we pass the church to Lassing. At Gasthof Fahrnberger which lies the village pond, the round trip ends at the starting point.
Particularities:
‘On the wrong track’ in Mendlingtal is the theme of ‘Mendlingtal’. The focus is on the last working wooden drift system in Central Europe, was promoted to the once over about 3km timber from yard to Lassing.
The theme begins in Lassing. At the entrance to the valley are the former blacksmith’s house and the 100-year-old Venetian board. There, the life of the blacksmith’s and their families represented in the iron-processing time. The road itself runs along the drift system and mendlingstream about 2.5 km through three bottlenecks (brackets) on roads and bridges drift past a hermitage, which served to confine the mendlingstream. After that, visitors encounter a large source with a coming from the last century working mill and moves to the hammer mansion in court. The waterfalls Kogler
are a popular destination near the village and can be reached easily.
Small but beautiful – turn into Konigsberg road towards Siebenhütten – From the intersection Göstling-South. In the first right hand bend straight branches from the trail to the falls. To the right, has repeatedly views of the cascades and waterfalls. The trail leads to the Koenigsberg road where you go downhill through open terrain. At the court of the farmhouse Kogl over you return to the starting point.
Siebenhütten – Kitzhütte
