The “cottage in Utarp” is a place of rest and relaxation – especially families are invited with (small) children! The toddler room with changing table and cot, the swing and the sandpit and not least the large garden offer parents a truly relaxing holiday – we know that from our own experience!
In typical East Frisian style, built in 1927, the ‘cottage’ in the six-hundred-souls village Utarp is about 9km off the North Sea coast. Surrounded by a mature garden with hedges, fruit trees, lilacs and roses, the 2300m² plot of land forms an idyll in the middle of a quiet settlement.
The entire country house was almost completely refurbished in 2014 and awarded in 2015 by the German Tourism Association (DTV) with 4 stars! It has a new bathroom with walk-in shower, a low entry bath and underfloor heating in the bathroom, a new upstairs toilet, a new fitted kitchen with dishwasher and oven, and wooden floors in all living areas that accentuate its rural character. Upstairs you will find a large flat screen with BluRay player. On request, there is a smaller TV for the ground floor – if a part of the family should sleep upstairs!
The angular arrangement of the rooms gives the ‘little house’ its special charm. Ideally, it can accommodate from 2 adults to 3 adults with 2 (small) children or larger families with 4 to 5 children. After a day trip to the North Sea, to Tannenhäuser See (11km) or even after a trip along the Holtriemer hiking trail on foot or by bike, you can end the evening by the fireplace.
On request, we also rent two bicycles, which can then be used for the period of your stay.
The ‘cottage’ has free Wi-Fi.
