Haus Ludwig has a great location right in the heart of the charming historical Old Town of Partenkirchen in the Ludwigstrasse famous for its beautiful traditional houses decorated with alpine painted scenes. Home to the best Bavarian bars, shope and restaurants, many with traditional Bavarian music and dancing. There are also great Italian and Indian restaurants for variety. And cafes and an Irish Pub just down the road. The apartments are however are located in a quiet part of the street next to banks and the large sun terraces are on the side of the building facing the mountains and are really quiet.

Lovingly renovated in 2017- 2018, with a modern nod to the eccentric last King of Bavaria, Ludwig the Second, the house is composed of three large family friendly holiday apartments. Apartment Murmeltier ( Marmotte) is on the ground floor and has three bedrooms and two bathrooms, as does Apartment Steinwild ( Alpine Ibex) on the first floor above. The largest Apartment Falkenstein ( Falcon Rock ) has seven bedrooms and and is spread over the second and third floors.

The apartments can be rented separately or all together subject to availability to contain large groups of us up to 42 guests. Children, babies and dogs are welcome.

Haus Ludwig is fantastically central and yet also quiet in the evenings. The covered terraces with ample seating are situated at the back, south facing side of the house. All have great views over the rooftops of the Old Town with the whole mountain range of the Zugpitze in the background and as they are covered, can be enjoyed whatever the weather. We have a gelateria and coffee shop next to the house in summer, a Bavarian specialty craft beer shop underneath, the bike rental shop and the tiny local cinema is over the road and supermarkets, bakers, restaurants and bars are all within a 5 minute walk.A breakfast buffet can be enjoyed every morning from 7am over the road at a local hotel. We do provide off street parking at the rear of the building. A car is not always necessary however, as the Deutsche Bahn main train station and the Zugspitzbahn are just a 10 minute walk and there are bus stops within 30 metres at St Sebastian”s Church. There are free local bus passes for all guests.

Great hiking trails start just along the Ludwigstrasse and it is only a 10 minute walk to the Wank Cable car and a 5 minute drive or bus to the Eckbauer and Hausberg lifts and the ski jumping stadium.

Each of the apartments has a huge open plan kitchen/diner with the living room attached. Each apartment has a wood burner for atmospheric winter evenings and wood is supplied. We welcome children and babies and supply baby beds, high chairs, toys etc free of charge. Dogs are also welcome for a small fee when registered in advance. There is a heated ski cellar and boot room, as well as a free laundry facility with washer and drier for guests use.

Of course bed linens and towels are supplied at no extra cost. The bathrooms are all new in 2018 and gorgeous..

Appartement Murmeltier is on the ground floor and has three bedrooms and two bathrooms. It has lovely high ceilings and a very spacious feel. One bedroom has a double fourposter bed, the second has a large double bed which can be separated into two singles if required. The third bedroom has two single beds which can both be pulled out to make doubles. It is also possible for 2 extra guests to use the sofa bed in the living room. Baby beds are always available free of charge.

The apartment is suitable for wheelchair users an there is only a small step on entrance, we can provide a ramp on request.
