This quirky cottage enjoys the most wonderfully isolated location high up on Dinas Mountain with superb coastal views stretching from St Davids to Newport.
The cottage is right at the end of a three quarter mile long lane and is surrounded by open mountain land grazed by sheep and mountain ponies which freely roam according to tradition.
The coastal path can be joined within about 2 miles and there are lots of lovely coves and bays to explore.
The Preseli hills also make for excellent walking.
Fishguard and Newport are both about 10 minutes' drive and have a good range of shops, eateries, pubs and galleries.
Ground floor
Entrance is into the farmhouse kitchen and breakfast room which has a quarry tiled floor and a big electric “everhot” range, freestanding cupboards and dresser containing all pots, pans and crockery. There is a larder fridge, freezer, dishwasher, microwave oven and a dining table with 8 chairs.
The cosy snug sitting room has a woodburning stove, 2 sofas, Welsh dresser with a selection of books and games and a TV with DVD player.
The large gallery room enjoys one completely glazed aspect with fabulous sea vistas right over the bay and watching sunsets from here is a treat. The room has a slate floor, a 12 foot window seat, sofa, armchair and a woodburning stove.
Accessed by a steep ships ladder there is a gallery bedroom 1 under the eaves with a double bed, bedside lamps, chest and mirror.
The dining area is underneath the gallery and has a table with pew and chair seating.
The WET room has a shower , WC and hand basin.
A couple of steps lead down from the kitchen to the utility room which has a washing machine, tumble dryer and a day bed for very occasional use.
The family bathroom has a bath with shower over, WC and hand basin.
First floor
Stairs lead to 2 more bedrooms which have velux windows with sea views and share clothes hanging space on the communal landing.
bedroom 2 has a king size bed, bedside table, chest with mirror.
bedroom 3 has three single beds and is ideal for children, there are bedside tables and a chest with mirror.
Garden & Parking
The garden is the mountain and there are grazing sheep wandering about, there is a sitting out area to the front of the cottage where garden furniture is provided. Sitting here with a glass of wine and watching a sunset will be magical.
A picnic bench is also provided.
There is also a barn with a table tennis table.
There is parking to the side of the cottage for several cars.
Other Information
There is oil fired central heating throughout the cottage, this is included in the rental from May to September and charged for at a flat rate of £40 per week at all other times, pay when booking please.
A complimentary starter basket of logs is supplied and more are available to buy.
A cot, highchair and 2 stair gates are available.
Towels may be hired at £5 per guest.
Two well behaved pets are welcome – please make sure you adhere to the Countryside Code.
