There are plenty of places for eating out just a short stroll away or indulge in some local culture by hearing a Welsh choir sing in the church. If you need a shot of adrenaline, try the family-friendly treetop nets and Fforest Coaster (a UK first) at Zip World Fforest or visit Surf Snowdonia, the world's first inland surfing lake. Beach 20 miles. Shop ¼ mile, pub and restaurant 300 yards.
