Newport sits snugly at the foot of Carningli mountain, which, if you climb it, will provide the most stunning views of Newport Bay and beyond. Occasionally the peak of Snowdonia can seen from the summit.
There are two beaches within walking distance and numerous restaurants, hostelries and galleries.
Ground Floor
Entrance into lounge which has a tiled floor with rugs, an exposed stone wall with an open fireplace containing a multifuel stove, it is furnished with two comfortable sofa and an easy chair, a colour TV with Freeview, DVD and radio and a unit for playing iPods and MP3 (connectors available), coffee table and items of occasional furniture. A good selection of books, OS maps, CDs & DVDs provided for your use.
The adjacent open-plan dining room and kitchen is a light and airy room. The dining room has an exposed stone wall, and ornamental fireplace, and is furnished with a pine table, 6 chairs, writing desk and Hi Fi. The dining room leads through to the:
Fitted kitchen which has a range of fitted pine units, built in oven, dishwasher, fridge with small freezer, microwave oven, Nespresso machine (bring your own pods) and a radio. There is an automatic washing machine and a tumble drier in the adjacent outbuilding.
The bathroom is also on the ground floor and contains a bath with overhead shower, WC and wash hand basin.
First Floor
Stairs lead from the lounge to the two bedrooms (there is a third locked room not for guest use).
bedroom 1 has a double bed, chest of drawers and wardrobe, TV and DVD player.
bedroom 2 has twin beds, bedside tables, chest of drawers, writing desk and wardrobe. Both bedrooms have a radio/alarm clock and iPod dock. The beds have duvets and fresh bedlinen. Electric blankets are available.
There is an upstairs WC with wash hand basin.
The cottage is freshly painted and has pretty co-ordinating fabrics throughout.
Garden and Parking
Several uneven stone steps with a handrail lead to the large enclosed lawned garden that has a patio area with swing seat, wooden benches and a large fixed trampoline (used at your own risk).
There is an outside hot water shower at the rear of the cottage, perfect for sandy or muddy children!
Parking available in the council car park ( £1.50 a day 9am-7pm April – End october)(you may unload outside the cottage).
Other Information
There is full mains gas central heating throughout the cottage. Electricity and gas are included in the rental from May to September. A flat rate charge of £25 per week applies at all other times. Please leave this in the cottage for the caretaker to collect.
A travel cot and high chair are available.
There are telephones in the lounge, dining room and both bedrooms, please pay on an honesty basis for use of these by leaving payment at the cottage for the owners.
No smoking.
NO towels are available to guests who book after 13th March 2017 so please bring your own.
