This lovely stone holiday cottage, a former pub, is in a delightful location at the foot of Carningli Mountain, just half a mile from Newport Town with its beaches, excellent range of small shops, restaurants, cafes and pubs and a street market on Mondays.

The Iron Bridge, famous for bird-watching on the Nevern estuary, Pembrokeshire coastal footpath and Parrog beach are all within a mile.

This very comfortable cottage has lots of interesting artwork and quirky features , sea glimpses from some of the rooms and a wonderful cottage garden complete with seating areas, rope swing, pond and wooden bridge.

Entrance is through the arched porch and into the dining room which has a wood burning stove, and large farmhouse dining table with 6 chairs.

The newly refurbished kitchen, with its lovely Welsh dresser, has a nice mix of fitted units and freestanding furniture, an electric range cooker, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, microwave and a washing machine.

There is a small sunny seating area at the far end of the kitchen which looks to the garden and patio.

The comfortable sitting room has a log burning stove, and is generously furnished with three comfortable sofas, armchair, coffee table, TV with DVD player, well stocked book case, games chest and occasional furniture as well as many interesting pieces of art.

Upstairs there are 4 bedrooms.

bedroom 1 has a view of the estuary and sea glimpses, it is furnished with a double bed, fitted wardrobe, bedside tables and dressing table.

bedroom 2 has twin beds, bedside tables, desk with mirror and a wardrobe.

bedroom 3 has views over the valley toward the estuary, a double bed, wardrobe and bedside table.

bedroom 4 is tiny and has a single bed and a chest of drawers.

The painted pine panelled bathroom has a wonderful slipper bath, overhead deluge shower, hand basin and a chair.

The adjacent cloakroom has a WC and hand basin.

Fresh bed linen is provided.

Garden and Parking

There is a gorgeous private and enclosed garden to the side and rear of the cottage.

The garden is gently sloping and has stone steps, a lovely pond with a wooden bridge over it, rope swing, seating areas with garden furniture, mature trees and pretty flower borders.

There is access to the shed which contains garden and beach furniture and games.

There are two parking spaces on the roadside.

Other Information

Heating is by oil and hot water by oil/solar, it is included in the rental from May to September and charged for at a flat rate of £35 per week from October to April, please leave your payment at the property.

A complimentary basket of logs is provided and more can be purchased at the property and locally.

A travel cot and highchair are available.

Towels are available to hire at £5 per guest (not beach towels).

One well behaved pet is welcome – must sleep downstairs.

A phone is provided on an honesty basis and there is Wi-Fi access.

No smoking.
