Property Description
S34819 is a charming, terraced holiday cottage situated in the pretty seaside town of New Quay (Cei Newydd in Welsh), and a 20-minute stroll down to the harbour (much less to the nearest shop and pub) where picturesque houses, pubs, shops, restaurants and cafés cling to the sides of the hills above the blue waters of Cardigan Bay. The town, once famous for smuggling, fishing and wooden boatbuilding, now offers a sheltered harbour and wonderful sandy beaches, and sailing, fishing and watersports are all available locally. The harbour wall is a great place to sit and enjoy an ice cream or local fish and chips, and watch out for the resident bottlenose dolphins. In season you can take a boat trip to discover them up close. Other wildlife along the Heritage coastline includes the rare chough, the red kite, seabirds and grey seals. The coastal path also offers unique wild flowers and diverse marine life in the rock pools. Poet and writer Dylan Thomas, lived in New Quay in 1944 and it's easy to see why he loved the place and how it gave him such inspiration.
