Beautiful New Quay Cottage

8 People|4 Bedrooms|

Property Description

If you choose to have your holiday in S80531, then you will be in the perfect spot to enjoy all that the lovely Welsh seaside town of New Quay has to offer. The beautiful semi-detached house dates back to the late Victorian era, was once a bakery and bakers shop and offers character in abundance. The proportions of the house for a family holiday are great – from the spacious living and dining room, large snug with games area and four bedrooms (which includes one small twin bedroom) to the lovely lawned garden and patio, with glimpses of the nearby sea. There's also a useful spacious utility and boot room, perfect for surfboards, buckets and spades, walking gear and bikes and all the holiday equipment you'll need in this beautiful area. Stroll down to the harbour and watch out for the resident bottlenose dolphins which visit the bay or get up close and personal with a dolphin survey boat trip, enjoying the view as you look back on this pretty, colourful town clinging to the rocks. It's easy to see why poet Dylan Thomas chose to make New Quay his home for a while and today, you can follow in his footsteps with a specially marked historic trail and find out how he amusingly came up with his fictional town of Llareggub in Under Milkwood!

New Quay has a selection of pubs, restaurants, cafés and little shops and the wide sweep of the sandy beaches are perfect for a bracing stroll in the winter and lazy days and water sports in the summer. Dogs are allowed on two of the New Quay beaches all year round so if you're bringing your pooch on holiday they can enjoy it too.
The Ceredigion coastline has 60 miles of coastal paths and lots of lovely rugged coves and scenic beaches to enjoy. Visit the Georgian harbour town of Aberaeron and half an hour further north, the Victorian resort of Aberystwyth awaits, with traditional pier, promenade and an electric cliff railway. From the town you can also catch the Vale of Rheidol steam train that meanders through the mountains and valleys to Devil's Bridge and waterfalls, well worth a day out. Half an hour to the south of New Quay is the town of Cardigan and the castle, sitting at mouth of the estuary and tidal reach of the River Teifi and also bordering Pembrokeshire. After you've done a days activities or sightseeing, you can enjoy the fabulous sunsets, sit on the harbour wall with an ice cream or fish and chips and watch the boats bobbing about and the seagulls soaring overhead – simply bliss!
