Attractive Brixham Cottage

Brixham, Devon, England
5 People|3 Bedrooms|

Property Description

This Grade II listed semi-detached holiday cottage has amazing views, and from the large enclosed garden, you will find Shoalstone Pool, one of only a few remaining sea water pools in the country. Stroll along and see the spectacular views of Tor Bay and the coastline, or for the more energetic, walk on up to Berry Head National Nature Reserve on 200ft cliffs high above the town. The property has been decorated and furnished to a very good standard and is spacious throughout. Offering a lovely cottage throughout the whole year, ideal for a family summer holiday near the coast or for cosy winter breaks when the town is much quieter. Free to visit, there are Napoleonic Forts, spectacular views on three sides, wonderful bird watching with the largest colony of guillemots of the south coast, plus rare plants. Definitely worth a trip, this wonderful haven of history and wildlife has a great café, visitor centre and lighthouse to explore and you might spot a seal off the headland. A stunningly beautiful inner harbour provides fun for the whole family with a full sized replica of Sir Francis Drake's Golden Hind to explore, an immersive 3D smugglers experience, The Smugglers Story, plus pirate days, arts and crafts markets and lots of festivals to enjoy. Heading east from Brixham harbour, you can take a walk along the South West Coast Path past hidden coves and beaches to the long sandy beach at Broadsands. You can take a boat trip over to Torquay and visit the theatre, or take a trip into Living Coasts. South Devon's two cities are Exeter and Plymouth – both are within easy driving distance, (approx. 30 miles) and offer their own tourist attractions, historical buildings, and shops. Dartmoor is breathtakingly beautiful. You can visit the tourist spots or, if you are an experienced walker and navigator, you can get away from the tourists and explore the depths of Dartmoor. Dartmouth is the neighbouring town to Brixham, situated on and across the mouth of the River Dart. Take the ferry (car and passenger) across to Dartmouth. Don't forget to visit Agatha Christies home Greenway which was for many years her summer residence now open to the public. There are also many National Trust properties all waiting to be explored.
