Schloss Scharfenberg was built in the 11th century on a rocky spur above the Elbe and lies halfway between the Saxon residence Dresden and the porcelain city of Meissen
As one of the oldest castles in Saxony, Scharfenberg is one of the cradles of German Romanticism. Artists like Novalis, C. D. Frederick, F. Oehme, Th. Körner loved the castle because of its wild and romantic location. Surrounded by dense deciduous forests and charming gardens, it is the ideal place to escape for a while everyday life. Exclusive, original or casual, our guest rooms and apartments are very individually and atmospherically decorated.
They have comfortable beds, comfortable bathrooms, no TV and an exhilarating view of the countryside. A fresh bouquet from the castle garden, old or contemporary world-class art, nothing superfluous, but everything you need to feel comfortable.
Hiking on the wooded ridge above the Elbe, cycling along the river, riding through the Elbe valleys, barbecuing in the castle courtyard in the evening, the days will not last long in this enchanting place.
In our house there is no restaurant, but over the old Schlossweg you can comfortably go in a few minutes on the Elbe in the Western Inn inn excellent food. Our double rooms cost 60 € per day, triple room 80 € per day, apartments for max. 4 people or 2 adults and 2 children cost 120 € per day. A rich breakfast buffet can be booked additionally for 10 € per person (for children up to 11 years you pay half the price).
