Rohnstadt is embedded in a kind of plateau on the northern edge of the Hintertaunuse, about 50 km from Frankfurt am Main. Out of this charming birding, day trips to the Feldberg can be made to the Tierpark Weilburg, or the Vogelburg near Rod an der Weil. Visits to Weilburg and Braunfels Castle, to the Limburger Dom, or to the Lahn, are easily accessible by car.
In the last few years the cycling route will be interesting again.
A bright maisonette apartment with two double bedrooms and independent baths accommodates you. The maisonette was renovated and re-furnished until the summer of 2015. To the lower bedroom is a small, covered balcony, with a view of the garden, the village and the adjacent meadows. The upper bedroom and the open living area open with a west balcony, wonderful views of the sunset.
To the north, to the street, is the apartment entrance. Integrated is a fully equipped kitchen.
A melange of carefully selected furniture of different styles, small craftsmanship, friendly colors and fabrics, as well as a fully functional kitchen frames your stay.
The neighborhood describes itself as a quiet residential area. It is an activity when a wedding is celebrated in the village community house on the weekend when the neighbors come to my garden in October for the walnut harvest, or the children play on the street. A place with 286 inhabitants, I would perhaps compare with the noise level of a bumblebee who just briefly touches your ear. Birds chirp and fly around the house all day long. In the summer you can hear the weather in the warm weather, the crickets chirp in the garden.
In the village one receives Mondays and Fridays farm bread and homemade sausage, yard Ramshardt.
Since September 2017 the Bürgerhaus Rohnstadt has reopened. Culinary you can look forward to Italian and German cuisine. The bowling alley at the Bürgerhaus helps you get back to fitness after your meal. In the main town of Weilmünster one can shop daily. The Pastori, a program with a restaurant, offers variety to the self-made.
I sat in the summer of 2015, after the construction works gladly in La Collina, with pizza and wine / Weilmünster. The portions are huge, the prices and the service very friendly. And in the summer you have a fantastic view of the sunset, wheat fields with cornflowers, as well as the surrounding small hills.
If you want to swim, visit the Freibad Weilmünster.
This summer I have to visit Altweilnau, which is about 12km away. Friends say there is a network of cabaret and activities.
Weilburg has opened a private art collection since spring 2017. The so-called Rosehangmuseum. Also, I’m curious about local impressions. Connected with a visit to the baroque palace, or a summer visit to the castle concerts, you can combine some beautiful hours.
In the Weiltal a hiking trail leads from Weilburg to Schmitten, 47 km you could walk in stages through the valley. The Weiltalbus also brings you to your hiking destinations, but always at intervals of 1 to 2 hours.
In Villmar and Aumenau you can do paddle tours on the Lahn. Or you spend a more comfortable water day in summer in the swimming pool Weilmünster.
