The thatched house was built in 1750. Presumably, a former customs station for the transport of goods on the islets; then dominated the North Sea until the front door; old drawings show the house – and the masts of lying on the other side of the dike ships in port.
Where was fifty years ago the harbor, today is a picturesque reservoirs and a paradise for bird watchers. Easily reached on foot along the water through the reeds to the upstream main dike and swimming area with lawn.
