Erfurt (60km) has many historical churches, cloisters and synagogues. A trip to Erfurt is the ideal way to get to know more about Germany’s cultural history. You can also visit several museums there, or have a look in the zoo with your children. In Gotha (32.5 km) you can visit the Friedenstein castle, art museum or the zoo. Visit Ilmenau (74 km) if you love hiking surrounded by beautiful nature. You can hike in the direction of the Kickelhahn, where you can climb to the top. Are you looking for something to entertain the children on a rainy day? Go to the indoor recreational centre with all kinds of activities, like bungee jumping and crazy golf!
