The house was immortalised by Gustav Klimt, one of Austria’s most famous artists, in 2 paintings completed while he summered at the house in 1914-16, and is featured in the “Klimt on Lake Attersee” trail.
This is a family home which was lived in for a year by the current owners and is still used by them for regular holidays and winter skiing trips. Books, CDs, DVDs, maps, brochures, toys and games, and other personal effects are all available for you to borrow during your stay.
Host not present but the house will be fully prepared on arrival. Basic groceries could be supplied on request
Summer activities on the lake and in the surrounding mountain area are plentiful: Mountain Biking,swimming, sailing, windsurfing, scuba diving, fishing, waterskiing, hiking, mountain climbing, riding, tennis, cycling and more.
The lake district is well worth exploring as it is an exceptionally beautiful area and has many lovely towns and village including the World Heritage site of Hallstatt.
Salzburg is 40mins by car, parking is available at the Forrester’s House. There is a local taxi service available if required
