Our 135 square meter listed half-timbered house was completely rebuilt from 1996-1998. The compartments are lined with mud bricks. During the refurbishment we placed special emphasis on the reuse of historic building materials (such as wooden doors, a natural stone floor, beamed ceilings, a Heutür, a cantilever chair, etc.). This gives the house a pleasant indoor climate. The house is quietly located on the small village street of Forchheim and is located near the Saidenbachtalsperre. On the ground floor is the bathroom and the kitchen. In the large hallway is one of two wood stoves available, which can be heated in addition. The large sitting area on the ground floor can accommodate 10-12 people and is ideal for smaller parties. In the summer you have the feeling to live in the garden. Since the terrace is very protected, you can relax wonderfully. In addition, the garden has several benches and a Holzhollywoodschaukel to relax. For the children there is a swing and a ping-pong table. On the first floor there is an additional toilet with sink, a bedroom with 2 single beds and a living room with TV. On the 1st floor there is an additional 4th bedroom which is equipped with a sofa bed for two. This is only prepared if necessary. The attic is equipped with two further bedrooms. Although the stairs are steep, we have taken care during the renovation to install a railing, which is also suitable for smaller children. The larger attic room is a family room, which has a large double bed and two single beds. In the smaller attic room is a small double bed. There is also space for a rollaway or crib. In Forchheim there is a public sports ground with playground, which is easily accessible on foot. Who wants to enjoy the peace or has a fishing license, can spend many hours at the dam. In addition, you can easily go in all directions to hikes and bike rides. Marienberg can be reached in 15 and Seiffen in 25 minutes by car. Due to the good connection one is in about 1 hour in the baroque city Dresden and also a day trip to Prague or Karlovy Vary is easily possible. Since the house was rebuilt after the orginalen model of the old monument, it has the original charm of a typical Erzgebirgshäusels .Im winter it looks like a real Christmas lights house. There are no crooked ceilings. But there are still the old small doors, old beams from a barn and some original detail. No, it is not perfect, but very comfortable.
