The listed “Old School Kirmutscheid” is located in the heart of the nature conservation project Upper Ahr-Hocheifel, which protects the rare floodplain landscape and the water system of the Upper Ahr. The secluded location on a rock spur at the edge of the forest (next to the church from the 15th. Century and the historic rectory) guarantees a beautiful view and seclusion.
As usual in the past, the teacher’s flat is on the ground floor of the house. The other floors are currently not used, so they live alone in the house.
The apartment comprises a bedroom and two rooms with single beds, the living room, kitchen, bathroom.
The bedroom has a double bed 160×200, in the adjoining bedroom is a bed 100×200 and in the chamber a single bed 80×200. Four people can stay here in total.
The room is equipped with dining area, couch, satellite TV.
The bathroom has an antique porcelain bath from the Wilhelminian era, where the missing parts have been supplemented with contemporary sanitary ware.
The kitchen has stove with oven, fridge, sink and a complete cooking and serving dishes, toaster, coffee maker, egg cooker, kettle.
To the “teacher’s apartment” is a spacious outdoor terrace, which is completely fenced (for structural reasons, this is only from 27. 4.2018 available for guests) From there you go down a natural staircase to the river and the barbecue area.
You do not have to do without contemporary comfort because the house can not be redesigned according to today’s standards because of the strict preservation order, but as a memorial to reflect the way of life of past generations.
Nature and hiking enthusiasts as well as lovers of authentic, historic buildings will enjoy it. Signposted hiking trails lead past the house.
Right next to the “Old School” is the outbuilding of the same. In this outbuilding, the schoolteacher formerly practiced his actual profession, with which he had to secure his subsistence (either agriculture or craft).
Today it is also prepared for holiday guests and is called Dwarven School. However, it is completely separate from the “old school” in which the teacher’s flat is located.
Bookings are only possible for the current year, regardless of where the holiday calendar is displayed.
