The accommodation consists of a contemporary style kitchen, 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and an open plan living area. Large bi-fold doors lead to a furnished 8sq metre balcony, which looks out onto magnificent mountain views up the valley to the Sonnblick glacier.
The living area comprises a comfortable seating area with flat screen TV, DVD player and bluetooth speakers so you can enjoy music from your MP3 player, phone or tablet. A selection of DVDs and board games are also available. The solid wood dining table seats six and the kitchen is fully equipped with microwave, fridge freezer, kettle, toaster, coffee machine, dishwasher and washer/ dryer. The apartment boasts underfloor central heating throughout.
The main bedroom is luxurious throughout with ensuite, kingsize bed with memory foam mattress, walk in wardrobe, flat screen TV and french doors leading to a private balcony. The second bedroom has a wardrobe, chest of drawers and two large single beds with memory foam mattresses which can be made into one double bed. There is a third bedroom containing two single beds and a family bathroom comprising a bath/shower.

Our apartment is situated in the heart of the Salzburgerland, in the Hohe Tauern National Park. The breathtaking Rauris valley is perfect for year round year round holidays. The ‘chocolate box’ Alpine town of Rauris, boasts stunning views up to the Sönnblick Glacier and the wilderness that lies beyond. It has been a skiing area for more than a century.
Rauris is a great place for those who wish to relax and those who are after a more energetic holiday. Rauris is an adventure sport centre, including skiing, hiking, rafting, mountain biking, mountaineering, paragliding, ice and rock climbing and 46km of groomed cross-country piste.
The Rauris valley has two of the biggest glaciers in Austria, both a mecca for ski-touring. Footpaths and hiking trails lead directly into the countryside through the “Rauriser Urwald” – a primal forest scattered with 80 secluded lakes. In the evening you can also experience the romance of a horse-drawn sleigh rides across crisp, white snows, or the excitement of a moonlight tobogganing adventure.
Some of the largest ski areas in Austria are also within a 20-40 minute drive including Kitzbuhel, Zell am See, Heiligenblut, Bad Gastein, Flachau, Saalbach, St Johann and the Kitzsteinhorn (Kaprun) Glacier, which provides skiing 365 days a year! It is possible to ski in a different resort every day.
The Schönblick Mountain Resort and Spa, located in this beautiful valley, is a scenic and family friendly resort village with enchanting authenticity. It is located on the edge of the medieval gold mining town, and just a couple of minutes walk away is the pedestrianised centre full of shops, bars and restaurants. The main gondola station and chairlift for the expanding Rauris ski area lie 150 metres away, along with access to the vast Nordic ski trails. Rauris is also linked to the Pinzgau Mountain Biking network with over 750km of trails.
There is a more than adequate array of ski pistes within Rauris with plenty of wide, well groomed and uncrowded pistes. The slopes face north-east, ensuring the snow stays in great condition, but snow cannons cover all the runs into the resort for guaranteed snow.
The ski schools are some of the best in Europe and the whole area is excellent for beginners, families and intermediates.
There are plenty of friendly bars and restaurants both on the piste and in the valley for enjoying apres-ski drinks after a day on the the slopes.
