The house, which is now used as a boarding house, was built in 1886 and used by the Deutsche Reichsbahn as Güterabfertigung conditioning. Approximately at times of turning the building, however, was no longer used and was empty. Now, after more than 120 years after its construction, Riet Schens old freight station has finally found a new purpose: Since 2011, the house is owned by the Baudach family from Rietschen and was from this fully renovated and turned into what it is now – a historic hotel in a modern guise.
