Flachsmeer is located between the city of Papenburg about 10 km (Meyer-Werft) and the city of Leer about 18 km and is a district of the municipality of Westoverledingen. It takes about 30 minutes to get to the Netherlands and about 60 minutes to the North Sea coast.
