Property Description

Living at Moordeich means:
             BE IN THE LANDSCAPE

The HOUSE AM MOORDEICH was built in 1890 as a small farmer’s place by a master baker of Husum for his livestock overseer. At that time, the owners liked to put their money safely in pasture and cattle. The bog dike, in the 17th century still 2. Dike line, today forms the border to the municipality Ülvesbüll. The agricultural utility path with the same name goes on an ox route from the 17th Century back, at him also only 400 meters from the house Moordeich distant Smeerkrog (smoker pitcher) from the year 1652.

As part of the village renewal of the community Oldenswort in 1991, the house on Moordeich was extensively renovated and modernized by us. The exterior was restored as it was originally. Inside now elegant and functional designed, the house offers guests an undisturbed coexistence and juxtaposition. The house is now divided into two equally large living areas (about 80 square meters), which each have their own charm.

The part MARSCHBLICK includes the old living area, located to the southwest, with a cozy stove in the dining room. To the north in the so-called former ‘Guten Stube’ is the bedroom overlooking the dyke line of Ülvesbüll. Above the storeroom is a sleeping chamber. Both bedrooms are furnished with very nice old English wallpaper by Morris Ltd. fitted.

The half of the house ‘MORGENSONNE’ lies to the northeast in the old utility part, where three cows and a horse stood. This residential unit extends over two levels, down in the former cowshed are the living-dining room, the kitchen, the bathroom and the toilet and up under the thatched roof (former hayloft), the two bedrooms, where the sun rises.

Without much effort, the half of the Marschblick house can be functionally connected to the morning sun area, so that a generous use of the whole house for a large family or a group is possible or two families can be together but also for themselves.

THE GARDEN LANDSCAPE with quiet corners and places full of roses, the play and sunbathing area as well as the large carp pond, opens in all directions to the wide march, which is still mainly grassland. The garden, the approximately 1-acre meadow and the 500 -meter-long dike, are available to guests for free use.

Our nearest neighbors 400 meters away run an economy and a cattle scale. The other neighbors are farmers, where they can buy milk and eggs, have horses, maybe tell stories or talk about land and people.

AREA INFORMATION: The cities of Husum, Friedrichstadt, Tönning and Garding can be reached quickly, they are only between 11 and 14 km away from the Haus Moordeich. The Wadden Sea is 4 km away and it’s worth taking a look over the dike every day. The bathing area with shower on the Everschop-Siel can also be reached by bike.
