The house
Fantastic holiday in our lovingly furnished holiday home in rural, quiet surroundings, surrounded by idyllic low mountain landscape. With 61 m² of living space, it can accommodate up to 5 people. You spend your holidays in a single-storey house, it is therefore suitable for seniors. We have our house individually decorated with many things that we consider for a relaxing holiday as desirable. There is a cozy living room with dining area, TV, stereo system, DVD player, games for all ages and access to the balcony. Here you can enjoy the beautiful nature and tranquility.
In the kitchen you find a Senseo coffee maker, oven, microwave, kettle, blender, refrigerator with separate freezer compartment, toaster, dishwasher – everything you need for cooking. A Schwalmer cookbook with regional recipes for after-cooking is ready for you.
The bathroom has a floor-level shower. Hand and bath towels are available in sufficient quantity for you. The house with 3 bedrooms, one with a double bed, 1 single bed and 1 bunk bed for children should provide for a good and restful sleep. Suitable for allergy sufferers, no feather or down-cover and pillow. Cot, high chair and changing mat we offer free of charge on request.
Relax in our garden, which serves for the sole use, with parasol, garden chairs, chairs, garden games and barbecue. Our little guests have plenty of space to play on the spacious grounds with swings and the adjacent creek, as well as on the nearby playground and sports field.
Recover from the day trips in the house near Wassertretbecken, there you can freshen up after the ‘Kneipp rules’. A garage, table tennis, bicycles for guests, outdoor games and a parking place belong to the house.

The Kurhessische Bergland, our region, has many sights and attractions to offer. On this page we would like to introduce you to some of them.
Olberode with about 350 residents, is a district of Oberaula in Schwalm-Eder-Kreis and North Essen. Surrounded by meadows, hills and forests you can enjoy your holiday in any season, starting point for attractive hiking, biking and interesting excursions. Very many sights-possibilities are easily reached within 25 km, within the “Kurhessische Bergland”. A house near creek empties into the 15000 m² large recreational lake. It is open in summer for swimming and fishing, in winter for skating. The cross-country skiers will also get their money’s worth on the groomed cross-country trail around Olberode. There is a toboggan run close to the house and 2 sledges are at your disposal.
In Oberaula is a possibility for tennis, squash, golf (18 hole course), horse riding and a half pipe for sporting activities. Nordic Walkers can choose from a variety of signposted routes.
Cycling pleasure to around 70 km, enables the newly created Bahntrassenradweg. The trail passes through idyllic green valleys and woods, pass under the old railway bridges, offering magnificent views! He takes off the roads through villages and half-timbered houses. Beer gardens, restaurants and picnic areas invite too many breaks. Embark along the railway cycle path on a journey through the Rotkäppchenland.
The half-timbered towns Schwalmstadt5, Homberg, Neukirchen and Alsfeld are nearby, as well as the mill museum in Schorbach. The festival town of Bad Hersfeld can be reached within easy driving distance, as is the university town of Marburg and the Documenta-city Kassel. The animal park in the Knüllgebirge is worth a visit for all guests.
A trip to the 636 m high Eisenberg its belvedere or Hesse largest hilltop castle, the Burg Herzberg, are more interesting destinations in our region that are found near Olberode.
In May 2004, the theme park “coal and energy” was opened with a 3-hectare open-air area with explosions and good working equipment in the mine museum in Borken. Here you can also visit a visitor gallery. Or take a trip to Giessen, in the world’s first interactive mathematical Museum.
