Right at the foot of the cathedral is Meldorfers the marketplace, in the morning takes place the traditional weekly market on Fridays. Plenty to see and do there in the two Meldorfer museums. The Dithmarscher State Museum is the oldest and largest Dithmarsch Museum. The Agricultural Museum shows the major restructuring in agriculture since the beginning of the industrial age and the affiliated Dithmarsch Farm, connected by a beautiful cottage garden with the museum. After Büsum into the wave pool and spa facilities, it is about 20 km, where you can also make excursions by boat to Helgoland.
