In the heart of Neustadt an der Weinstraße, the guest is greeted by a light-flooded apartment, on a secluded courtyard with a blooming garden, where only the splashing of two fountains can be heard. Vines and rose bushes are lining the walls, while an ancient olive tree and cypress trees give it a Mediterranean feel. The property is centrally located in the old town, yet it is protected from street noise, it is secluded and very quiet.
The apartment is located in a property from the 1860s; The buildings are kept in the style of historicism, they date from the time of the Bavarian King Ludwig I, who also built the Villa Ludwigshöhe in the nearby Edenkoben. The property is listed, it was extensively and extensively renovated by the owners. The apartment, about 80 square meters, located on the first floor (no elevator), overlooking the courtyard with garden and fountain and on the roofs of the old town with the famous twin tower of the collegiate church. The apartment comprises a bedroom with two separate beds, a bathroom (with washing machine and dryer), a spacious entrance and a large open living-dining room with adjoining open kitchen. There is also a comfortable couch, which is used during the day for sitting and can be expanded in the evening in the evening to a full bed for two people. The kitchenette is fully equipped (stove, microwave, fridge-freezer, dishwasher, various small appliances, etc.). The dining area is designed for six people. A small library offers works on the Palatinate and on the wine and a selection of other literature. Free Wi-Fi is as self-evident as satellite television.
Various parking facilities are available in the immediate vicinity. To the main station with Saalbau and the festival place for the Weinfest on one side, as well as to the market square with the historical town hall, the gothic collegiate church and the weekly market on the other side, are in each case only few going minutes. From the train station, the sights of the surrounding area can be easily reached by train and bus. You can also rent e-bikes in Neustadt.
Neustadt, the “Pearl of the Palatinate”, lies embedded between the biosphere reserve Palatinate Forest, known as the largest contiguous forest area in Germany, the vineyard of the middle wine route, and the vast Rhine plain. There are festive occasions throughout the year, with the almond blossom festival in the spring and the vintage festival in the fall especially outstanding. Among the attractions in Neustadt itself include the Hambach Castle, the “cradle of German democracy”, the Gothic collegiate church, which is separated by a wall into a Protestant and a Catholic part, and the lively market square with the baroque town hall. In the immediate vicinity, the guest will find the Speyer Cathedral, the world’s largest Romanesque church and monumental grave site of the medieval emperors, the Rococo Castle of Schwetzingen with its magnificent park and the world-famous Heidelberg with its castle and old town. Alsace is close, a day trip to Strasbourg, which is only 100 km away, is recommended.
Neustadt has a very large pedestrian area in relation to the population, which invites you to stroll and linger. Here you will find a wide range of wine bars and restaurants for every need and budget. The idyllic wine villages in the area offer countless wineries with opportunities for tasting. In summer, every week a new wine festival is celebrated.
