The surrounding area offers something for all vacationers, big and small: The old town of Neckargemünd has more than 1000 years of history. Medieval alleyways lined with half-timbered buildings are ideal for walks. Hikes in the surrounding Odenwald and Kraichgau, to the night life in the old town of Heidelberg, anything is possible. The forest is on the doorstep, the Neckar path leads through the Dilsberg Heidelberg to Bad Wimpfen. Hiking trails lead to the castles to Neckarsteinach (Odenwald nature reserve) to Neckargemünd historic center, the Heidelberg Castle and the Royal chair. The excellent train / bus connections (bus stop in front of the fortress) offers trips to Heidelberg, Mannheim, and the more the Neckar valley. The varied leisure activities in Neckargemünd with natural swimming pool, climbing, cycling / Pedelec and canoe rentals, tennis courts, mini-golf, beach volleyball and stables invites you to stay in place. Exhibitions, concerts and plays there all year, both in Neckargemünd, and on the Dilsberg. A special experience is the night watchman guided tours of the fortress Dilsberg, through the old streets, Castle and Burg tunnel, which is 80 meters deep.
