Our five-star DTV-rated holiday house is located in a very quiet, exclusive outskirts of the village in Kalterherberg, a part of the city of Monschau, and offers a wonderful panorama view on the idyllic Eifel landscape.
Built in 2014 according to modern standards in massive construction, our holiday house not only meets high standards, but also offers absolute accessibility. The living space of approx. 125 m² is distributed over a single fully heated floor. In addition, the fully tiled house has a floor heating system with individually adjustable room thermostats.
The spacious living and dining area has a comfortable seating area as well as a large dining table for up to eight people. The technical equipment of the living area includes a satellite TV with flatscreen, a Bluray / DVD player and a music system with internet radio, CD player and a USB connection.
The fully equipped kitchen is equipped with an electric cooker, oven, microwave, refrigerator, dishwasher, sink, automatic coffee machine, filter coffee maker, water cooker, toaster, blender, pots and pans, complete crockery and cutlery Consumables such as spices, rinsing tablets, household paper, etc.
Two of the four bedrooms have a double bed (1.80 m wide), a wardrobe and nightstands. The other two bedrooms each have two single beds of 0.90 m width, chest of drawers and nightstands, the beds in the fourth bedroom being designed as a nursing home bed and a wardrobe bed. A baby travel bed (0.60 x 1.20 m) can be provided free of charge if required.
The large bathroom is suitable for handicapped persons and has a floor shower of the same size (1.50 x 1.50 m), a shower seat, a movable washbasin with a tiltable mirror, a urinal, a disabled toilet with foldable armrests, a towel dryer and a makeup mirror and a hair dryer.
The smaller one of the two bathrooms is also equipped with a floor-level shower (1,00 x 1,00 m), a washbasin, a toilet, a dryer, a mirror and a hairdryer.
There is a billiards table, table football, a shuffleboard, dice and board games, a satellite TV with flatscreen, a music system, as well as a telephone with a private number and a German-wide flat rate. In the economic area of the holiday house you will find a washing machine and a tumble dryer for free use, a small freezer, as well as all equipment and tools for the maintenance of the premises and the inventory.
The outdoor area is also barrier-free accessible. In addition to a spacious garden with complete fencing, our holiday house has a partly covered, wind-protected terrace with garden furniture, sun umbrella and barbecue. A heated garden jacuzzi for four people is available all year round for your own use. Before each change of guest is a cleaning and fresh filling. Sunbeds, benches and children’s play equipment complete the equipment of the garden area. In addition, the property offers a private outdoor space for at least four vehicles, including a designated disabled parking.
Wireless internet is available free of charge at a transfer rate of up to 50 Mbps. The holiday home is not only DTV-certified, but also by the NatKo (Tourism for All Germany e.V.) for accessibility and disabled facilities. A comprehensive orientation during the journey as well as the availability of questions or problems during your stay are as a matter of course for us as a host.
The center of the village with food market, baker, butcher, doctor is reached in a few minutes. The next largest city and administrative center is Aachen in about 35 km distance. On the spot and in the immediate surroundings of Kalterherberg, there are excellent hiking and excursion possibilities. Both the moors and heaths of the nature reserve of the High Fens as well as the extensive forests, the Vogelsang castle and the Rursee of the national park Eifel invite to this. Only a few kilometers away is the old town of Monschau with its historical architecture and many gastronomic establishments. In winter, there is an extensive cross-country ski run, downhill skis in pipes and the possibility of sledging. Extensive information material on attractive excursion destinations and leisure activities is available in the house.
