Discounts for larger groups and longer stays
Incidentally, longer stays are worthwhile, especially for large groups and families: for a minimum stay of 7 nights, there is a discount of 10%. At least one month (30 days) stay there is a 20% discount. Large groups / families over 5 will receive a further discount of 10% (for stays of 7 days or longer) or 15% (for stays of more than 30 days) in addition to the long-term discount.
While the long-term discount is automatically reflected in the booking or pricing, the large group discount will be added manually. Please contact me before booking, so that I can send you an appropriate offer.
On the Hofreite we have two cottages furnished, the “courtyard house”, this is about, as well as the “garden house” (see below).
Equipment “Hofhaus”
Natural wooden floor, large living-dining area, 2 bedrooms, 1 modern bathroom with tub; Development over the yard.
In one bedroom there is a double bed (1.80 x 2m) and a Schalfcouch for 2 people, in the other two single beds (each 0.9 x 2m) and in the living area down another large sofa bed (also 1.40 x 2m). For larger groups, two additional mattresses can be provided on request, so that up to ten people are possible.
Furnishing: wooden floorboards and stylish furnishing, bright, with new kitchen incl. Dishwasher, induction cooker and oven with integr. Microwave. There is space for luggage in the loft and in a downstairs storage room. The bathroom has a washing machine. During the energetic refurbishment of the farm building from 1895, we placed great emphasis on ecology and sustainability: the building is heated by a pellet heating system, the walls are painted with white bio-silicate paint, the wooden floorboards are oiled, not painted and the electricity comes from its own roof.
The sheltered garden, along which no roads lead along, with many old fruit trees is a place for adults to relax and for children a large adventure playground including giant trampoline for the older children and adolescents and a spacious, with natural stone sandpit for younger children. There is also a fire pit for barbecues or for “just-so-comfortable-sitting together”. The garden can be used together with the other residents of the Hofreite, which consists of two houses (existing residential building and former barn). There are no roads around the garden.
Although it is very quiet in the yard and garden or on the entire property, the Hofreite is located in the middle of the old town. Nevertheless, the main street with grocery stores (eg tegut, Rewe), bakeries (including one with its own bakery, which has often been awarded as one of Germany’s best), various restaurants and bus and tram stops within a few minutes walk.
Finthen is one of the most attractive parts of Mainz. It has retained its rural charm but offers urban infrastructure. Enjoy the “urban country life” in the center of the most beautiful district of Mainz: The holiday home is just three minutes from the highway, in just eleven minutes by bus from Mainz city center or just 25 minutes by car from Frankfurt airport in half an hour Car can be reached from Messe Frankfurt.

Mainz as a holiday destination
With its more than 2 000 years of history, Mainz is one of the oldest cities in Germany, as evidenced by many historical buildings and the historic old town. You can practically not dig a hole in the city without bumping into the Romans. In the surrounding area are many beautiful landscapes and hiking trails, such as the idyllic World Heritage Site “Upper Middle Rhine Valley” with its many castles, which you can also easily pass through with a pleasure boat on the Rhine.
