The detached house is situated on a plateau in the southern Black Forest and was completely restored until 2016. It offers a large living / dining room with fireplace, access to the balcony and views of the Southern Black Forest, the Alps and Basel. The rooms are equipped with underfloor heating. The 1. 200qm large garden offers a fireplace with benches. The balcony is equipped with lounge furniture. There are 2 parking spaces. Hikers, mountain bikers, families or couples are in good hands with us.
The house (740m above sea level) has been completely restored and individually furnished. The living and dining area is 57 square meters. The living room has a large fireplace before you can make yourself comfortable on the large lounge sofa. The wood is stored in the 300-year-old wheat chest. A hanging rocking chair invites you to relax with a clear view. The dining room can accommodate 6 to 8 people. The lighting in this can be controlled individually and is also controllable with Alexa. The dining room lamp was built from a 100-year-old beam from the attic of the house. The Teufel surround system with subwoofer is optimally geared to the sofa for a great cinematic experience and is also in terms of music a sound experience.
The kitchen has been decorated in country style and is fully equipped with dishes, cookware, pots, pans and glasses. The concrete worktop offers plenty of space to cook and there is a large food cabinet with pull-out baskets available. A refrigerator, freezer, convection oven, extractor fan, dishwasher and food processor are standard equipment. For the little ones of the family there is a high high chair, which can also be used as a painting table.
The bathroom with walk-in shower, bench and Rainshower shower head spoils you with warm water. Then there are two sinks and a towel warmer available.
The toilet is separate with access from the entrance hall. Next to the entrance hall is a laundry room with separate sink, a large wardrobe for jackets and shoes. Here you can park everything and have plenty of room if you bring wet or dirty clothes home from biking or hiking.
Upstairs are both bedrooms. All bedrooms have underfloor heating and can be individually regulated. The high ceilings and the exposed beams give the rooms a cozy character. The bedrooms are furnished with lamps and cupboards that provide ample space. The bedroom 2 has space in a large dresser and is also furnished two folding mattresses for chilling or playing. On request, a cot can be provided.

I do not live directly on site and therefore stick out as far as possible. In an emergency, I’m reachable and someone is available on site. The house is secured with an electronic door lock, the PIN of which you will receive on the day of arrival. Press “ON”, enter the PIN and turn the knob to unlock the door.
There is a cat in the house that is shy. So no problem with children, but allergy sufferers should think twice. Of course, “Rover” is always hungry. 🙂 So it would be good if you fed him. Cat food is always in the house. Otherwise the neighbor would have to come over to feed you.
The firewood for fireplace and barbecue area will be provided and must be paid separately for a final fee at your discretion.
Shops (Edeka, Aldi and Penny) are located in the 4km away Zell im Wiesental.
Ideal for mountain biking and hiking. Directly from the house, you can start biking and hiking tours. From here you can get to the blue, high blue, high carrot or the Feldberg. The Feldberg is about 30 minutes away by car. The Hohe Möhr (1000m above sea level) offers beautiful single trails with residents and jumps. But the bike park Totdnau and other beautiful bike areas are available. We are happy to be available for further questions in biking.
Hikers can also start well from here. On the doorstep start many circular hiking trails, such as the Rümmelesbühl, Hummelsberg, Hollrundweg or the old border road between Baden and Austria. Also a trip to Pfaffenberg is recommended and either in the restaurant “key” or in over 400 years old “Hirtenbrunnen” turn. Hiking and bike tours to Belchen (1. 414m above sea level) are also beautiful and easily accessible. Nearby is the Nordic Walking Center of the Zeller Bergland. The mushroom picking is also popular. At the forest parking lot above the house Gresgen you can start. There is a hiking map in the house.
After a hike or bike tour you can have a beer in the 300m restaurant “Gässle”. The restaurant is known for its cordon bleu and salad. Even the homemade cake is excellent. It is recommended to go for the food to reserve.
Nearby there are several attractions such as the Steinwasenpark (Tierpark), the Erdmannshöhle, Todtnauer waterfalls, etc. Also just 30 minutes away is the ski resort on the Feldberg. On request, we can arrange a ski and snowboard school for you in winter. In summer you can drive to the Tittisee or Schluchsee or to Nonnemattweiher at Bürchau. In any case, the 2.9km long Hasenhorn toboggan run near Totdnau in summer and winter is an experience. In bad weather the fun park in Zell is a joy for children. There is also an indoor
Miniature golf course. If you want to swim, in the Galaxy on the Tittisee with slides, spa, sauna and outdoor pool or in the Roman spa of Badenweiler at his expense.
In 3km away Zell im Wiesental is a train station. From here you can also travel by bus in the Black Forest or even arrive after a long tour or hike again by bus in Zell. Here are all shops available (Edeka, Aldi and Penny) as well as a pharmacy, banks and a doctor. In Schopfheim there is a small hospital. In Schopfheim there is also a good bike shop, should problems arise.
Wednesdays at 7:00 am and Saturdays at 7:30 am, a traveling baker stops in the village right in front of the front door. You can recognize him by the long horns. 🙂
Basel is reached in 45 minutes from here. Lörrach is about 30 minutes away.
