Numerous well-developed hiking and biking trails invite you to explore the cultural and natural beauty of the region, such as the Rotkäppchenland bike path, the Schwalm bike path and the Fulda bike trail. The Little Red Riding Hood country is characterised by a variety of museums that provide excellent insight into the history of the country and its numerous special features. Bad Hersfeld, located 15 km away, has a wonderful timbered Old Town, numerous spas and also cultural and leisure activities. The Stiftsruine was considered to be the largest Romanesque basilica north of the Alps and is today the largest Romanesque church ruins in the world.
