History: Schloss Hohen Niendorf was originally built as a mansion in 1864 in the style of the Gothic Revival and later rebuilt as a hunting lodge and family home. After the Second World War it served initially displaced and later as a training home until it finally fell for years. From 2008 to 2010 the castle was completely renovated. There was a lift, various community facilities, such as a fireplace room and sauna .The 70-hectare castle park is still marked by the plant by the famous landscape architect Wilken Rostock in 1866. In its mission to create an English landscape garden, he referred two Hühnengräbder from the Stone or Bronze Age with a left and import of all continents plants. Several kilometers paths run through the castle grounds today and lead the pond and large oaks along, through giant rhododendrons and a variety of conifers that hold since the park’s plant here.
