Idar-Oberstein is known for its jewels and for being the birthplace of famous actor Bruce Willis. The Müller Family house is located in a natural and tranquil suburb of this city. This charming holiday apartment is situated on the bottom level, with a view of the forested hills. There is also a lovely bar (not public) on this level, which is not part of the holiday apartment but which the owner will permit you to use. If you stay here you can also be treated to the owner’s home-made bread, as well as a delicious German beer. From the house you enter a large garden, which transitions into a nature preserve. The region is known for its vast forests and rock formations. Even the road to Idar-Oberstein is quite unique. You drive through beautiful natural scenery, passing small villages with jewellers and little shops along the way. Idar-Oberstein itself has a lot to offer. You can hike to the Church in the Rocks, where you have a fantastic view. A tour of the copper mine is also enjoyable as well as educational, and you can even search for stones yourself. To the west of Idar-Oberstein is the Erbeskopf: the highest point in the state of Rhineland-Palatinate. There are two ski slopes and a summer toboggan run here.
