The main sights, as well as cafes, bars, restaurants, theaters, cinema and museums are nearby. For example, it is just 15 minutes walk to the castle.
In addition to the various shopping possibilities, there are nearby u. a. Several bakers, a fruit and vegetable shop, a small supermarket, a discount store and regular market in various places in the old town.
The so-called Café Schafheutle, which Helmut Kohl likes to visit, is just around the corner with a large selection of home-made chocolates and pies and a beautiful conservatory.
Diagonally opposite is the very worth seeing Kurpfälzische Museum with a pretty little park and a café with outdoor seating. A few houses down in the Bauamtsgasse is the famous “Schnitzelbank”, a very quaint little restaurant with typical German cuisine.
