You can live in our town house from 1897 a very small but fine apartment combination – ideal for young and young at-home solo travelers or couples / friends who like to sleep separately.
The combination consists of a basement apartment (1 living room / bedroom, kitchen and bathroom, bed size 190×90 cm) and a small wooden house across the garden (1 living room / bedroom, bed size 200×70 cm). In the wooden house there is no toilet, but you go only a few steps into the basement.
The special charm consists in the historical execution and completely old equipment of the cellar. The philosophy is “reduction”. This means getting along in a small space with little and waiving television and radio. However, since working people inquire about this apartment, W-LAN has been set up (very good reception, also outside and in the wooden house).
Track how it was in this townhouse when the staff lived in the basement in the smallest of spaces. And how did it feel when you had to leave your little house in the country for the toilet? A small, if not quite so expendable journey through time, because you do not have to do without a shower and a fridge with 2-plate-cooker. Everywhere you will find old objects. And it gets really cozy, when somewhere a candle twitches satisfied.
Artists, engineers and building experts certify the combination of apartments a high quality craftsmanship and conceptually successful implementation. A good insulation in the garden house ensures a quick and pleasant warmth. The basement apartment is heated according to an ancient Roman principle (radiant heat through hot water pipes in the walls). Everything was done in painstaking manual work and with much passion. Therefore, we hope for an appreciative approach.
You have direct access. You can use the whole cellar and the garden and do some artistic work (barbecue available, garden seating, washing machine, workshop, paint and canvases …)
The house is adjacent to the city center. You can find peace here and yet it is within walking distance. The historic ramparts invite for jogging and walking. From Ostend Ostfriesland can be optimally explored: during the day in the countryside and villages, in the evening comfortable at home or chic in the city. The train station can be reached in 14 minutes on foot, the bus stop is just a few meters and the highway just a few hundred meters from the house.
