Take advantage of the central location of your holiday home by touring the surrounding region. For example, go on a day trip to the Brocken – the highest mountain in the Harz. You can get there on foot or on the Brocken railway. Visit the beautiful town Wernigerode (15km) or the UNESCO world heritage city of Quedlinburg (15km). Spend hours enjoying the Bode Gorge in Thale or visit the Hermanns- and Baumannshöhlen caves in Rübeland. Other popular destinations for excursions include Rappbode dam with Germany’s largest suspension bridge (currently under construction), Hexentanzplatz, Roßtrappe (granite crag) with a breathtaking view, the ruins of Regenstein Castle, Michaelstein Abbey, and Wernigerode Castle.
