Our small half-timbered house is located in a quiet yet central location within the historic half-timbered center and within the city wall of the spa town of Bad Sooden – Allendorf (district Allendorf). Within walking distance to the Werra, to the Werra cycle path and to the hiking trails on the “Green Belt”.

There are three floors in the house. On the ground floor you will find a fully equipped kitchen, with additional freezer and a fridge with freezer, dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker, pads and a capsule machine (Nespresso are also available. A dining table for two persons, expandable, is also located in the kitchen. The ceiling height in the kitchen varies. In some places it is about 195 cm, otherwise 200 cm. In the kitchen you come through a small porch.
In the rear part of the ground floor you will find the living room, which has been extended like a winter garden (glass roof and underfloor heating) with access to the covered outdoor seating. The living room has a flat screen TV (52 inches) with a Dolby surround system. Furthermore, streaming services such as Netflix and Amazon Prime can be used here. A DVD and Blue-Ray player is of course also connected.
Furthermore, you will find on the ground floor a guest toilet, which also houses the washing machine.
A staircase leads up to the upper floor. On the gallery is a sofa that invites you to read and relax. In the attic is the “children’s room” with two single beds (90 cm wide), and the bathroom with toilet, large vanity, bath and shower facilities.
In the 1. Upstairs is the “parents room” with a double bed (box spring bed) (160 x 200 cm). The room also has a 26 “flat screen TV.
The house is absolutely allergic friendly!
outdoors
You have a carport – parking space on the other side of the house, so right across the street. The outdoor terrace is partially covered and not visible. Garden furniture can also be found here. So that you can enjoy the tranquility and a glass of wine on the terrace in autumn and winter, a patio heater is at your disposal. The outdoor terrace can only be accessed from the inside of the house and is limited by other (backyard buildings). The half-timbered house is in line with other half-timbered houses. On the one hand, however, there is only one garage entrance.

Please take into account that this is a more than 250 years old half-timbered house, although modernized and restored. However, there are rooms in the house, whose ceiling height is not higher than 200 cm.
The house is located within the city wall in the immediate vicinity of the city center. Bakery, butcher, pharmacy, supermarket u. a. are within walking distance in a few minutes. A car is not needed. Even the playground is just 50 meters away and the wonderful swimming pool with a view of the Werratal can be reached on foot in 10 minutes.
Free internet is also available in the entire house.
Dogs are very welcome. welcome. No additional costs will be charged for your additional family member. However, this does not apply to the tourist tax, which must be shown separately.
Another special feature is that you will find both drinks and food. You can use them for a small fee (cost price).
Surroundings
All things of daily needs can be found in the immediate vicinity of your holiday home. So you do not have to use a car.
Even the hiking possibilities to the former border control point Schifflersgrund and to the Gobert or the Söder forest start directly on the doorstep. In winter you are in about 20 minutes on the “Hohen Meissner” and can go skiing, cross-country skiing or tobogganing. At almost 800 meters above sea level, you will find good snow conditions here on many winter days. A look at the web cam at Meissnerhaus is enough.
The region offers numerous exploration possibilities. Starting with small city explorations around the graduation house in Bad Sooden, on the historical track of the salt boiler and the peculiarities of the “two castle view. You can also make numerous discoveries on canoe trips on the Werra, cycling on the Werra cycle path and mountain bike tours in the region of the former zonal border.
Furthermore, there are day trips to Eisenach, Gotha, Erfurt or Göttingen. The Hainich National Park with its climbing forest and its treetop path in northwestern Thuringia are an experience.
