Our timber-built old hunting lodge is located alone on a forest meadow and a small stream in the Rothaargebirge Nature Park, which is still spared by mass tourism. It offers on 112m ² a lot of space for 8 people in 4 bedrooms and a huge living room with two independent seating areas. A cozy tiled stove and the exclusive furnishings will immediately inspire you and relax. Hikers, skiers and hunters are welcome in our family-friendly and dog-friendly house. In the garden everything is prepared for barbecues and sunbathing.
They are free there to pursue all outdoor activities. Hikers, mountain bikers and cross-country skiers start right outside the door, downhill skiers, climbing enthusiasts and golfers can practice their hobby in the immediate vicinity. As a special delicacy also hunting opportunities in the princely forest of the family Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg can be negotiated, the stalking starts at the door! Of course, her dog is welcome too.
Miles of secluded hiking trails through the beautiful low mountain range let you breathe deeply and forget everyday life. Encounters with humans will be rare, but wildlife observations will provide suspense.
Of course, you can also follow one of the award-winning theme hiking trails in Wittgensteiner Land, such as: B. the forest sculpture path or the shale path. The famous Rothaarsteig is located on top of the ridge and can be reached quickly.
Since spring 2013, the Wittgensteiner Land is known for another attraction: bisons are free! In a unique conservation project, a herd of wisps has been released to freedom and is now roaming the Rothaargebirge. If you are lucky enough to spot the shy animals on their hikes, if you want to increase your chance of sight, you must visit the adventurous ‘Wisent Wilderness on the Rothaarsteig’ (www. Wisent-world. De), where another Wisent herd lives in a fenced, but uniquely natural hiking area.
Culturally, you will not miss out on your holiday with us. Bad Berleburg is the seat of the princely family Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg, who lives with three generations in their over the city enthroned baroque palace. Meetings with the princely family are always possible, if you are on the white gekiesten castle courtyard z. B. settle in the Schlosschänke. Guided tours of the castle take place daily (see www. Wittgenstein-berleburg.net) and are also ideal for children. In the beautiful castle park you can watch Princess Nathalie during her daily training on the riding arena, she is a professional dressage rider.
In autumn, the park regularly “blown” the shot red deer, an old hunting tradition with hunting horn players and presentation of the antlers.

Winterberg (14 km) is located exactly in the other direction from our house and offers an absolute contrast to the quiet Bad Berleburg. The largest West German ski resort outside the Alps is a simmering tourist center in the summer and in the winter with many shops, nightlife, restaurants and all kinds of leisure activities. Climbing park, summer toboggan run, kart track, wellness, everything is close together. Other fun parks are easy to reach in Sauerland by car.
