We have decided to rent our windmill in Neubukow for a few weeks of the year. We also want to give other people the opportunity to turn back time in a unique environment and to live in a more than 100 years old Dutch windmill. Admire as we have the old craftsmanship that can be seen everywhere in the mill lovingly worked up or even received completely natural. Examine the artful composite timbers, whose accuracy of fit is admirable, the huge wooden funnels, the millstones that are still in their old place in the stone floor (second floor), the bucket elevator responsible for transporting the grain inside the mill was, the royal wave that extends from the mill cap to the roll bottom (first floor), the many different waves and gears some made of wood and much more.
The entire mill has been fitted with modern heating, a fully fitted new kitchen in the old style, two bedrooms with flat screen TVs and a designer bathroom, leave nothing to be desired. These premises are located in the converted threshing floor and in the roll floor.
In the stone floor / second floor is the living room with two exits to the gallery, which runs around the entire mill body. A 360 degree walk with beach chair and seating, just amazingly beautiful. The secure floor (third floor) and the cleaning floor (fourth floor) we could leave in the original state and can be visited.
Many small features in our mill make living easy to something special. We have furnished them to our liking and not impersonal like a holiday apartment. Many paintings, modern art and history of the mill, antiques and designer pieces have found their way into the mill and together with the old technology form a unique home decor. Alone the size of 210 square meters of living space is probably not exactly the size of a normal apartment or House. Since we not only put a lot of time, a lot of money, but above all a lot of love in our mill, we hope that you can enjoy your stay to the fullest.
But if you want to leave the mill, the Baltic Sea is only 4km away. Pepelow is a surfers paradise. Or they love sandy beaches which can be found in the nearby fishing village of Rerik with the Wustrow peninsula, whose changeable history can best be explained on a steamboat trip. But friends of the steam locomotives get their money in Bad Doberan. There, as in the old days, the Molly drives through the city center via Kühlungsborn to the white town by the sea Heiligendamm. You will find more culture and big city flair in Wismar or in Rostock. A little tip, from Neubukow leaves every hour a train in both cities.
When it is stormy and cold outside, then it is particularly comfortable in the mill. Then you hear the creaking of the wooden beams, the whispering of the wind, which catches in the wings, just as if the mill quietly tell stories from their turbulent past.
But if they still have the sense of nature and tranquility, then right in front of the mill is the Way of St. James, natural, cuddling a true natural paradise.
