Royal Afternoon Tea for Two at the 4* Rubens at the Palace Hotel, London

Price - £78.00|2 People|

Description

Served in the opulent Palace Lounge, overlooking The Buckingham Palace Royal Mews this delicious Afternoon Tea features mouth-watering pastries that were heavily influenced by Royal events and dining trends throughout the centuries.

To honour Queen Elizabeth II they serve Her Majesty the Queen’s much-loved jam pennies, a favourite from childhood. It is a miniature raspberry jam sandwich cut into circles the size of an old English penny. The red velvet cupcake is influenced by the House of Stuart recognising Colonel Thomas Blood who, along with his co-conspirators attempted to steal the Crown Jewels from the Tower of London on 9 May 1671. Blood was caught but released by King Charles II because he thought he would be a valuable spy.

The chocolate mousse with chocolate biscuit cake is inspired by Prince William and Prince Harry of Windsor as this was a firm favourite in the nursery. It is not surprising that Prince William chose to have chocolate biscuit cake at his wedding for the groom’s cake. It is no wonder guests feel like royalty whist enjoying The Royal Afternoon Tea at the Rubens.
