Built in 1877 by Edward VII for his mistress Lillie Langtry, the manor is now a chic seaside retreat. Head to the restaurant (or the peaceful garden in fine weather) for a sumptuous afternoon tea spread. Dine on a selection of finger sandwiches, scones with Dorset clotted cream, strawberry jam, homemade cakes such as lemon drizzle, chocolate brownie, almond and black cherry Bakewell, lemon posset and a choice of English breakfast, herbal or fruit infused teas or coffee.
