The town centre and the three miles of golden beach are literally a couple of minutes' walk from the apartment, and Whitby has an abundance of activities and amenities to suit all the family. The local tour bus is an excellent way of visiting some of Whitby's highlights including the stunning Abbey and St. Mary's Church, positioned on the cliff top where you can enjoy spectacular views over Whitby and out to sea. You can also take one of the many pleasure cruises that will take you out to sea for one hour which is a memorable experience. There are many events going on all year round including Whitby's own Regatta, Folk Week, music weekends and Goth weekends which offer something to please everyone. If you would like to travel further afield you can visit many pretty coastal resorts dotted along the coast from Whitby including Robin Hood's Bay, Runswick Bay, Sandsend and Staithes which are all worth a day out. The seaside town of Scarborough is only 20 miles away and the stunning historic city of York is only one hour away.
