Buildings of the farm have been present since c1540, and although it has now silted up and planted with young trees, the small stream was once dammed to form a header pool, most likely used to feed the nearby River Leadon. Also visible are medieval ridge and furrow earthworks, a ploughing system used in the Middle Ages (which have been mapped from aerial photos as part of the Malvern Hills National Mapping Programme). The picturesque Forest of Dean is well worth a visit for a picnic, or absorb the stunning scenery of the Wye Valley.
